Nice picture.  Those are the kind of MILW F-units I grew up with in the 70s, only they were running patrols on the LaCrosse Division.  Interesting that so many older MILW units seemed to be missing their Milwaukee Road emblems around that time.

That shot really tugs at my heart.  I remember watching F's on that line in the seventies around Martelle and Marion.  And that being taken so close to the end makes it's more special.  I have so many good memories from that line, I just wish it was still around.

A classic shot! Crew posing with their charge... as timeless as it gets. A+ all the way!

A very interesting record photo.  The units were even in ABBA order for the occasion.

I believe people were claiming them for momentos expecting that the MILW was not going to be around for long or they weren't going to be employed with the MILW even if the line survived.   They were easy to remove.
