San Francisco Bay Area Trains, 1992, 8 MM to Digital
Author: FiveChime

With extra time on my hands while staying at home these days, and with the help of a computer savy friend, I've been able to succesfully download
years of 8mm video material to digital inorder to post on Trainorders. Quality is not the best, but hopefully subject matter will be of interest to some.
In some cases, I may need clarification regarding dates and locations.

First short segment  shows a one time event. An Amtrak engineer who recently transferred from the eastern part of the US
in 1992 ended up running on the San Jose - Sacramento Capitol Coridor trains. On one trip, he brought along his Nathan
M5 horn and replaced it with the standard K5LA horn on the train's F40 locomotive.

The 2nd short segment is a light Cal Train F40 running as rescue power in case the following SP 2472 special needed help.
Northern San Mateo, California, Fall, 1992.

The second video clip is great!  Good work in transposing the files.  Very worth the effort.
