Crossing the Sacramento River at Mossbrae Falls

Caboose 1539 brings up the rear of Train 1-632 as it crosses the Sacramento River at Mossbrae Falls in the early 1960's. This location is a couple of miles up river from Dunsmuir.

Beautiful spot up there! There is sure alot more trees up there now.

That's a nice hike to there. All grown up when I was there around 2000. Can't see much of the falls

Here is Mossbrae Falls which are located just to the right of the railroad bridge.

I believe that bridge is still there--119 years old, now carrying the weight of big GE's and EMD's.
