Nostalgia & History > Forty Plus Years Ago (81) - B&ODate: 04/09/20 07:40 Forty Plus Years Ago (81) - B&O Author: refarkas It is the late 1960's in Massillon, Ohio where B&O 6656 and caboose C1974 sit on the track closest to the B&O freight station ramp. I believe the CP boxcar is for newsprint paper for the Massillon Independent newspaper. The track that is shiny is the B&O line from Warwick, Ohio south to Bridgeport, Ohio. Today RJ Corman works the northern portion while the southern portion has been torn up.

First I thought it was at a museum but the real thing makes it special. Gary Date: 04/09/20 10:28 Re: Forty Plus Years Ago (81) - B&O Author: krm152 An excellent bucolic scene. The essencee of railroading past.
Thanks for the excellent B&O photo posting. ALLEN Date: 04/09/20 10:43 Re: Forty Plus Years Ago (81) - B&O Author: cr7998 Bob - thanks for the look back in time. In those days, there was enough local business from Republic Steel and other customers for B&O to call local crews at Massillon. The Massillon based crews also made runs to Warwick, where connections could be made with trains on the Akron-Chicago Division main line.
