Nostalgia & History > SP SP10 breaks downDate: 05/09/20 15:55 SP SP10 breaks down Author: Barstool Budd car SP-10 has just taken over train 246 wich for years was held down by P10 2486, my favorite pacific., all went well for a week and then SP-10 broke down near Selby and the 2-8-0 2747 was working the Union 76 turn at the time and in the second shot, 2747 has been assigned to take train 246 to Sacramento..the shot is at Martinez......

I've also heard that SP used the 10 to haul a baggage car from Sacramento as far as Davis on its westbound run, something Budd hadn't designed RDC's to do.
