Nostalgia & History > Throwback Thursday - Cab units on the Mopac.Date: 05/21/20 06:26 Throwback Thursday - Cab units on the Mopac. Author: LV95032 Anyone know the location? Another negative taken the same day was in Dilley, Tx so I'm pretty sure this is Texas.

PQM Date: 05/21/20 13:59 Re: Throwback Thursday - Cab units on the Mopac. Author: Hou74-76 I am going to guess Texarkana, TX/AR The building in the background looks like a portion of the old depot and it makes sense that MP would have a servicing facility there.

Author: Hou74-76 I appreciate that chronology, but Google the Texarkana depot and you will see the same building facade and structure as appears in the background. The big tip off to me is the roof line and arch presumably of the front decoration on the Texarkana depot is shown. And from what I know about the San Antonio depot & round house, the placement of tracks and engine servicing facilities and baggage cars doesn't jibe.
Yes, I could be quite wrong, but I think sleuthing the Texarkana location is worth pursuing. I bet someone will chime in soon and verify the location from first hand experience. Quite the mystery.
