Twelve cars - including one deadhead or buffer car, 4 sleepers and an ex-CZ observation car.
Headed east at Missouri City,Tx coming in to Houston.

Seeing that beautiful consist of four sleepers, three hi-Level coaches and a dome observation is a testament to Amtrak improving overall service to the Sunset line.  It may have lost lots of money but just think of the contrast to the Amtrak Sunset Limited here to the SP Sunset of 1968. Great shot of a near perfect, Amtrak, mid-1970 train.

Great photo!  Composition, perspective, subject, and background all came together; that resulted from planning.
Thanks for your photo posting.

Last sleeper (not the obs) is actually an x-SP car.

Good shot.
