#32 Would Look Better With A different Headlight - 1985

MONON #32 EMD BL2 was (and still is) well maintained by Kentucky Railway Museum. Considering the unit sat outdoors year around, it appeared to be in excellent condition when I took this photo on May 25, 1985. Sometime during the 13 years #32 had been at the museum the original bulb reflector headlight had been changed out for the twin seal beam module shown. This really does not look good; it gives the unit a bug eye look. The appearance of #32 would be much improved by installing a seal beam arrangement like the one installed on Stourbridge Lion #54.
Little things can make big differences in appearance.

Great catch. The fresh paint really looks good.

You're right, it would look better with the original headlight.
I wonder what shape this engine is in today ?

As of two years ago, it was alive and well, used for occasional rides around the museum.
