Nostalgia & History > Lone Star - track work - being followedDate: 07/12/20 08:51 Lone Star - track work - being followed Author: gcm Dec 77
On the Lone Star headed to Cleburne from Houston (on a chilly December day) there was plenty of Santa Fe track work with a number of miles with slow orders. This was in semaphore territory so north of McGregor. Probably in the Blum-Rio Vista area. We were going so slow that the northbound Inter-American was catching up to us. In a few shots it looked like they were in the same block. Picture 4 with the semaphore is 11 miles south of Cleburne with the last shot at I believe Rio Vista. I always wondered why have crews work various turns like this as opposed to everybody working all one segment together? Thanks for a reply!
