Nostalgia & History > Taking in the big picture. Enjoying railroad sprawl!Date: 07/31/20 04:22 Taking in the big picture. Enjoying railroad sprawl! Author: Roadjob One of the joys of railfanning has always been the ability to stand somewhere and take in the complexity of the industry. That's an overloaded way of saying, enjoying the operations. I have always enjoyed just watching the rhythm of a railroad when trains were not directly involved. The obvious place is the railroad yard, but the space between the trains could have been industrial sudings, coal loaders, the engine terminals, junctions, or diamonds. For today, just a brief look at taking in the sites.
