Date: 07/31/20 16:30 Re: Santa Fe Junction KC Author: pwh Nice interesting shot. For the uninitiated, namely me, please explain what railroad the Santa Fe train is crossing and what railroad is on the bridge. Is the train going east or west?
Tjhanks. Date: 07/31/20 16:48 Re: Santa Fe Junction KC Author: KCRW287 Very nice picture of a Santa Fe transfer. The Santa Fe just started onto the Kansas City Terminal RR, going north. all the tracks and the bridge in the pic are owned by the KCT. i am trying to find a track chart with track numbers, but my filing system is at present fubar. KCRW287.
Date: 07/31/20 18:05 Re: Santa Fe Junction KC Author: ntharalson To add to this, the tracks the Santa Fe was crossing were generally used by the Rock Island, later SP. The tracks on the upper level of the bridge were used by the UP.
Hope this helps you understand things a little better. Really a nice shot with a unique angle I haven't seen before, thanks for posting. Nick Tharalson, Marion, IA Date: 07/31/20 18:12 Re: Santa Fe Junction KC Author: FiveChime Nice shot. who's boxcar was that first car?
