Looks like a Penn Central local
Author: gcm

Dec 76
Less than a year into the Conrail era, an ex-PRR GP9 leads a local east of Alliance,Oh.
There was a couple of branch lines east of town - one to Newton Falls and another to Niles.
I don't remember which one this was.

Great local. I can't tell which location this is. Sorry.

Nice photo, has everything from the past - a local, GP9, boxcars, caboose, no graffiti, snow.

I really like the composition of that shot.  It shows the overall scene, not just a tight shot of the power like usual.

Nice photo.  Snow scene is great.  Plus, you caught the whole train.
Thanks for the nice photo posting.

How about Courtney Road? It looks right to me as the little shed matches the one in the photo of the train.

Thanks for the Courtney Rd image.
Looks like that was the place and if so this was the branch to Niles.
Thanks.

The shed in the last picture is a lot further away from the tracks. Did they move it at one point in time??

This photo also appears to capture a rare and unique ex ATSF caboose conversion to N5K class by PC.

All of the boxcars appear to be RBLs. Did one of the branches have a food processing plant or very large grocery warehouse on it?
