. . . forty five years ago, looking like a genuine "cornfield meet", a pair of SP trains, one, obviously a "hauler", were meeting on SP's Alhambra Line at Walnut, CA. The SW led "hauler" was eastbound.

What was the thing with SP SW1500's couplers? Something about blocks(?) that kept them from being able to be somewhere in the consist?
