ALCO RS-1: Some Clutter in Front - Took It Anyway - 1984
Author: krm152

Algers Winslow & Western (AW&W) #4 ALCO RS-1 was Built 1/1947 as Duluth South Shore & Atlantic (DSS&A) #103.
AW&W #4 was at the Indiana Railway Museum in French Lick Indiana several years after its retirement when I visited there on 8/26/1984. The unit was perfectly spotted for a photo. Unfortunately, litter had been left on the ground immediately in front of it.
I took a photo of #4 anyway. The unit was in good condition with an attractive paint scheme and had an interesting history.
What would you have done? Take it or pass on it?

Great shot of the junk with an ALCO RS-1 in the background. - I'd have taken the photo the same as you did.

I like those shots even tho some other site doesn't.  It is part of the scene of the way things are.
