The Katy Restaurant

April 88
The Katy Restaurant was along the MKT (the railroad just in back of it) a short distance SE of Smithville,Tx.
I never had a chance to try the food and not sure if it was still open when I took this.
Looking at a 2019 Google photo, the building and boxcars were still there.

I honestly don’t remember this along the right of way. Must be south of town along the highway.

I'm not sure if the building was a station or not.
Whatever it was it was probably moved here.
The old long gone station in Smithville was a large one.
