Photobob in hardcover...
Author: Notch16

I recently got word that SPH&TS still has copies for sale of the Limited Edition hardcover book Photobob's Espee.

Bob and I collaborated on this about a hundred and seventy-five years ago -- or so it seems! But the hardcover is still fresh as a daisy.

For those expecting Bob's fantastic black-and-white images of the 1960s and 1970s SP -- it's full of them, and any fan of Photobob B&Ws will be pleased with the selections and renditions. But the book also features Bob's stunning color work, dating right up to the demise of the SP in name. There are ACs and big cab SDs, blanked Gyras and ditch lights, Speed Lettering and swan songs, in full page and full color right beside Black Widow F's, Alco PAs and Commutes before CalTrain.

It's a shameless plug, but the books were part of a limited SPH&TS run a couple years back that many may not be aware of. And if you've already got the softcover First Edition, I'd vouch that you're in for a treat, because the hardcover edition is signed by the Bobs themselves (at one signing for the softcovers, we offered to sign for free -- but not signing was five bucks) and the fit on your shelves and the superlative content will do justice to any other hardcover title... as well as being a perfect companion to your dog-eared Photobob softcover.

This Photobob kid is pretty good. I'd say he's definitely one to watch. ;-)

Next he'll be resurrecting some D&RGW from the old original collapsed tunnel at Tennesee Pass Colorado!

Those books look like they would love to be in my library!
