Nostalgia & History > Cleanup at JO in AkronDate: 10/15/20 12:02 Cleanup at JO in Akron Author: EL833 In May 1975 the Erie Lackawanna had a slight mishap at JO interlocking in Akron, Ohio. A Chessie System (B&O) westbound- considered a southbound at this location during that time frame- passes a crew working on rerailing an SP boxcar. The EL Brier Hill big hook got the call to do this chore.

I remember images you posted at this site - I believe 1982 - when another derailment sealed the deal. Chessie ended the JO interlocking and went to two tracks.
