The 421 was fired up in spring 1959. Steam for the shop?  No real explanation why.  Anybody know more?

This 421 fantrip from Cleveland in 1958 was the last operational B&O Steam.  My father rode that trip, and has some movies, and that footage is in our "Eastern Steam Trips" video along with other things like N&W, Reading, etc. Anyway the photos show the last day steam ran on the B&O!!!
