Nostalgia & History > Question about the Chessie Steam Special tripsDate: 10/17/20 07:12 Question about the Chessie Steam Special trips Author: 2839Canadian During the Chessie Steam Special trips, how did the 2101 and cars get from Baltimore to Richmond, VA with the RF&P having a “no steam” policy? Did they run down the Southern Railway to Charlottesville and then west on the C&O?

Many thanks Date: 10/17/20 10:00 Re: Question about the Chessie Steam Special trips Author: 2839Canadian I know steam-powered Southern Railway ferry moves ran from Alexandria to Richmond on the RF&P as I chased the 4501 and Savanna and Atlanta No.750 on the RF&P in the late seventies. Bet you won't see steam on the RF&P now!
