Author: ironmtn I don't think I've seen so much green-and-gold diesel power in one place in an image before, much less on so many switchers, and with so many Alcos. Just a very special image -- thank you.
As to location, Erlanger, Ky. has been suggested. If in northern Kentucky near Cincinnati, I think Ludlow, Ky., at the end of the CNO&TP bridge over the Ohio River and at the foot of Erlanger Hill seems more likely from the general orientation and the hills in the background than Erlanger at the top of the grade. I have visited those locations several times in the past. The Ogle steel coaling tower present in this image is another gem, along with all of that green-and-gold. I am searching for historical photos of the Ludlow engine terminal online, and that coaling tower could be a verification clue. So far, no luck. Thanks again for a really special image.
