Nostalgia & History > Do Not Park on the TracksDate: 10/22/20 19:38 Do Not Park on the Tracks Author: MacBeau The title of this video is painted onto the street—multiple times. Apparently unable or unwilling to believe it could apply to them, the inbound bobtails took no heed. When the local switch job out of 8th Street Yard came along with a quartet of scrap gons for Pier J that required a run around, the bobtails waiting to get into the OOCL terminal where forced to scatter. Do enjoy the chaos that quickly ensues.

Elizabeth Date: 10/23/20 08:16 Re: Do Not Park on the Tracks Author: WM1977 Had a guy park his rig at the railroad side of the produce building across the tracks. Asked him to please move it to the other side of the building (truck side). He said go to h@#L. I told him that my 8 wheeler (GP40) was bigger than his 18 wheeler, he said it again. After the engineer blew the horn and started moving down the track toward him, he moved. Oh yea, the building wasn't open yet so it wasn't as if he was loading or unloading.
