Author: Trainhand Greg, in 1995 the 5800's weren't but 10 years old and were standard on almost all thru freights and pigs. That sd-40 and u30c are a little older. Check out the red flag on the rear of the 454, back when you could run line speed with a marker. You usually had a red flag in daytime or an fra light at night.

GE's were also prevalent in Georgia and Florida on CSX because Waycross was a heavy repair facility for GE's. Older units were commonly downgraded to local and yard service. Edited 2 time(s).
