Nostalgia & History > SP-L&N at Avondale facilityDate: 11/20/20 06:08 SP-L&N at Avondale facility Author: gcm July 76
An SP Alco C630 and L&N U23B are at the SP Avondale engine facility just past the west end of the Huey P. Long bridge outside New Orleans. Going by the old memory on this one so corrections are encouraged. Gary Date: 11/20/20 07:15 Re: SP-L&N at Avondale facility Author: IC_2024 Nice photos, GCM.
I visited “Mister Tower” ,Bob Phillips, in Sept 2001 at West Bridge Jct right before 9-11. My photos at that tower are somewhat haunting to me — it was like the innocence ended several days later when the twin towers came down, and I’m sure West Bridge Jct is long gone now, too.
