Nostalgia & History > Pigs on the Reno BranchDate: 11/25/20 17:10 Pigs on the Reno Branch Author: spider1319 Southbound north of Martin on the old WP , the UP Reno Local is returning from Portola with the pigs and other traffic for the Parr Avenue Yard. The Local is on duty at midnight so the late morning arrival was the norm.Parr is now closed and all intermodal has been transferred to Sparks. The branch is no longer a through route and is out of service on the north end.The date is 1998 and time is running out for this operation ,which is but a few months away from ending.Bill Webb
