More from Truckee, California when there was snow, unlike this year!

Nice whiteout shots. The weather folks are saying its going to be the coldest and wettest winter since 2014... wondering when thats happening because its been dry and mild so far.

I was on a train running from Emporia to Newton, KS in a storm like that. It was in the daytime, and we had to sneak up on each signal to see what it displayed because the snow plastered up aginst the lense. They would have showed up at night, but not in the daytime. We couldn't see the aproach to Neva when we went by it, so we had to stop at Neva, and the brakeman had to climb up on the signal and brush off the snow so we could see it.

Winter's not over yet by a long shot. And the Sierras are infamous for late winter/early spring "surprises".

That’s crazy! Have wondered with some of the snowstorms I’ve tried to drive in what it would be like with a train and not being able to see the signals.
