This is the front end veiw but I don,t know if the hostlers controls are on this end or the other? Anyone know?

Interesting...I've always heard about controls on B units, even the GP-60B's we still have in service on the BN....but...never seen the "hostler" controls in them. Does anybody have a picture by chance?

Author: davew833 Sadly, 968B was retired in 1980 and scrapped by 1981, along with the other 3 "B" units UP had kept for passenger protection and business trains, and two of the 4 "A" units. (951 was saved, and 928 was gutted and sent to a museum.) Less than 10 years later when UP wanted a "B" unit for their restored E-unit trio, they had to start with one that was in much worse condition than the ones they scrapped.

Author: Q-GP30 Indeed, I have slides of the 968B , gutted, waiting to be cut up labeled 6/81 at PNC Mt.Vernon when the late Burlington John and I took a tour of the shop.

We often used the hostler controls on our SCL E7-B's
