Nostalgia & History > Ok Crane buffs...need some wisdom please.Date: 01/12/21 13:31 Ok Crane buffs...need some wisdom please. Author: Texican65 Hi guys,
I've been working on a little project trying to account for all the old BN wrecking derricks that used to be on the system, and i've run into a snag. Trying to find the prior history of the old BN wreckers, it seems that there were two D-259s? Must have been at different times. Both appear to have been 250 ton Industrial Brownhoists. I believe either one of both of them may have been preserved, one of them presumably at the museum in Reardon, WA. The one in Reardon is supposedly the ex-N.P. #45/BN D-2510/ D-259, previously stationed at one point in time near Spokane, WA. The other D-259 was a prior SP&S X-11. I'm not sure where it would have been assigned originally...but this D-259 was supposedly out of Minnesota, and later became the CNWX 6365. Maybe it still is? But it doesn't seem to fit that an SP&S crane made it out to Minnesota....but maybe? I'm wondering if anybody has a few good photos of the NP #45/D-2510......and the SP&S X-11. I have a couple of the 45...but nothing of the X-11, which I feel like I need to compare. Thanks guys, Dow Date: 01/12/21 20:02 Re: Ok Crane buffs...need some wisdom please. Author: rrman6 I was through Minot, ND the late summer of 1964 on a harvest crew. There in the NP yards on the north side I recall seeing a newly painted wrecking derrick with its outfit cars. I don't know the make or number but would like to know the details and especially, would like to see a photo of this unit. Does anyone know of such photo? Thanks!
