Warbonnet Wednesday-A couple of 199 trains.
Author: Conch

I got the shot of ATSF100W  as I pulled into the Amarillo TX yard early one morning.  Didn't even have time to get out of the truck for this one on 10-8-1991.  A year later we see 4 GE's leading 199 into Grants NM on 9-10-1992. What fun days these were.

Wow, what a COOL sounding train number!!! (wink, wink... ;^) Of course, I missed out 'cause was already with MRL in Montana when Mr Haverty brought the Red & Silver back for that wonderful encore (sniff, sniff).

Two good ones. That last one is a calendar shot for sure.

Beautiful!  The later day Santa Fe never looked better.

Agree with everyone on these. Great shots. No. 2 just screams New Mexico to me. Pretty sure I've been at that same spot, but long after the Santa Fe era ended, sorry to say.

Both are great shots, especially number 1 which is essentilly a grab shot.  Thanks for posting.
