A good number wore the Operation Lifesaver scheme, too. This was probably due to the realization that "new yellow" bleached out rather quickly. GE had to repaint the 8500 series C40-8's as a warranty expense. Unfortunately these bright yellow units were described in the railfan community as "Zito Yellow".
