Riding A Classic GG1

On a warm summer day in 1980, Peter Conlon arrived at Washington Union Station to ride Amtrak's Broadway Limited to Chicago. Surprisingly, a classic Pennsylvania RR locomotive was in the lead and Peter was invited to spend part of the trip in the cab of GG-1 4935.

Cool! My mother's Uncle Herman was an engineer on the line. He ran the Congressional. I last saw him when I was about 6, in 1952, long ago and far away!
