Nostalgia & History > On Hands and KneesDate: 01/14/21 11:36 On Hands and Knees Author: MacBeau Back in the Summer 1990 this quartet of westbound B40-8s was recorded climbing the last mile into Summit past Martinez Spur on Cajon Pass. There was not enough tape available to record the whole train. Offered then are the last two plus minutes of the seven it took for them to pass the camera.

TC Date: 01/14/21 19:42 Re: On Hands and Knees Author: MacBeau They did, but had to sit there and watch a couple of hot piggybacks get run around them. A light helper team went east as they were departing Summit as I recall.

Would they have been in short-time-rating territory at the speed they were moving there? Or would the computer de-rate them before they started melting down?
With all the units sporting "Desert Storm" flags, the date would be 1991 or later. Date: 01/15/21 00:45 Re: On Hands and Knees Author: SP4360 Ah the old minimum horespower per ton and add one car trick.
