.   .   .   during a MAY '98, trip to the Chicago area, stopped by the Railroad Days displays in Franklin Park, IL. Not far away was this single WC flare with crew aboard. Although not part of the display, this clean single unit would have fit right in. During this pre CN period of time, flares abounded on the WC as it's mainline power. As far as I know WC was kind of unique as I THINK it never owned a single NEW unit.

Thanks for posting, Joe.  I think you're right, all WC power was second hand.  And I really miss that road.

Nice paint scheme . . many of the short lines are more creative than many mainlines back then
