The alarm tells the tale - 7:30 am - "surprised" the  family.  B calls on phone and wants to know what concerning the masquerade.  Arrived RU at 1 pm.  Plans of the parade are on.  Brown and I wonder and then think.  Charlie Merril calls for the costume.  Dinner at 5:25 pm.  - so better get a hustle on you Jack.  The crowd getting ready to go with Glen Moore on a sleigh.  Homan quite busy dolling up.  A hearty laugh then Harry and I play checkers.  Called for 10:30 pm.  A few "smutty" stories.  A cabin chat.  West alone.

12:15 am.  Passed out a freight train east of Kent.  Preparing to retire.  When Dan arrives a long and "lasty" chat.  I am still talking and to the annoyance of Nora.  Wide awake at 8:00 am.  One half notion to go to dance at Gypsum.  Hopes fail when B explains the situation.  The result of the masquerade.  No. 15 and Extra West both slip by.  To RU at 1 pm.  Working some.  B wants to be called at 3:30 and so he did get pulled out of bed.  The stage brings a few hard boiled passengers.  Biz picks up.  Dinner late.  Homeward first trip.  A hesitation plus a chat at Day's.  Home 10:15 pm.

Fairly good.  A swell spring day - and I feel ok.  Flour head to toe.  Expecting Jim home to hear the news of the dance.  A letter to Kate and Tom concerning matters of insurance "fire".  Nora goes on the war path and leaves for the city.  Thought it best to wait at Kent until she returned.  5:00 pm.  Mrs. Warren calls and I get an invitation to ice cream.  Up the hill 5:30 pm.  The light question - a puzzle.  A dish of ice cream for the folks.  Almost decided to postpone trip to RU.  Changed my mind.  Up to the post office.  Got a c.o.d. and letter and returned with Cliff first trip.  9:30 pm.  Writing.
