L&N unit Notice,no evidence of a
steam generator,IE nothing showing
on the roof.L&N bought SDP35's
without generators and they never
ran on passenger trains.

Also notice on the L&N SDP35 that there is no evidence of a hand brake. If there is one, it's not in the usual place on the fireman's side of the nose. I have noticed over the years many images of various L&N power that appear not equipped with handbrakes. As a retired locomotive engineer, this lack of hand brake seems rather odd to me. I wonder how L&N got away with having locomotives not so equipped? And I wonder how many units "got away". And yes, I know how to "chunk" a unit, but still . . . . .
