Today's train is lead by a couple of PA's with 6036 leading and a couple of E units following.

Dave Date: 01/15/21 18:46 Re: Train time at Santa Barbara early 1960's Author: agentatascadero It's hard to see, also hard to believe......but it appears there could be a baggage car up front. 98/99 carried a combine up front, until very late in the game, presumably when the combines were no longer available.

When I started with the SP at Santa Barbara there was a laborer that supplied and cleaned the engines. Oxnard and San Luis Obispo had laborers . The original mainline did go thru town when it was built probably back in the early 1900s.
