Author: coach At one time, this was SP's only line into Oregon, with all it's ups and downs, curves and tunnels, bridges and berms. I'd love to hear what SP engineers felt about running this line. Parts of Siskiyou Pass were once double-tracked, which amazed me. It was a really busy line, with freight and passenger. Must have been amazing.

Up here in Oregon it was always said you wanted to learn train handling on the Siskiyou Line because of the profile. Never ran over Siskiyou Summit but when it was SP I ran the rest of the line north of Ashland. |
