More Red CB&Q SD24s

The Q had 16 SD24s (numbers 500 - 515) built in 1959.  They were the first factory-built units in Chinese Red,  The first generation GP and SD 7s and 9s seemed to begin being painted red about 1959.  All the second generation Geeps and SDs and the U-boats came in red.

1. CB&Q SD24 500 and GP30 970 in Daytons Bluff Yard (St. Paul, MN) on June 20, 1964.

2. CB&Q SD24 501 and GP30 979 in Downers Grove, IL on July 2, 1965.

3. CB&Q SD24 509 in Daytons Bluff Yard (St. Paul, MN) on June 19, 1964.

Q's  SD 24's looked great in that scheme. Wonderful slides of them  !
