Second Section - IT Locations/Directions
Author: Art045

Good Morning - here are three more IT to consider: two of the ex-CD&M car 271 - the first is Henry Stange's shot on 19 August 1951; the other is by Barney Stone and was taken on 21 August 1948.  Barney's image looks like Springfield to me, but I appreciate any/all corrections on this.  The last was taken on 22 February 1955 in Decatur, but I'm not sure at which crossing of a steam road and the IT this was taken.  Thanks for any/all responses!!  Art

The Decatur shot is at Faries Parkway and Brush College Road. The other line is the Illinois Centrals line that serves Staley’s.

Love the third view of the IT held up for the parade of 40 footers!

Thanks for the comment - CD&M = Columbus Delaware & Marion.  The 270-271 were 1906 Niles-built cars the IT acquired around 1909.  Have a great afternoon, Art
