Howard Fogg was @ Williams Jct AZ on 9/12/64 when this train came rolling by ... with 8 'gators ... and I remember scrambling around Argentine to get good roster shots of 1 or 2!

That is amazing! I've never seen a shot with 8 of these units on a train.

That's a good one, and not that much smoke with, probably, all of them on line in throttle eight, as they are climbing eastbound.

Last time I visited Williams Jct, you could still see the ceramic mosaic tile they installed on the floors in the waiting room

Wonder if 842 was in the mix?

On Conrail 24 traction motors on line was the limit.  AC traction motors were considered 1 1/2 a motor.  When there were more units than that they were isolated.

Excellent and to think nearly 10 years later (9 to be exact) you could still see 8 on a train coming into
Barstow from Bakersfield.

There's a Santa Fe publicity photo on page 31 of Santa Fe's Diesel Fleet showing the eastbound (empty) Fontana, CA - York Canyon, NM coal train at Topock, AZ with 10 RSD-15's on the point.
