Silverliners were a "sanitized for your protection" ride. Pleasant, air conditioned, dust free. The Red Cars were a true railroad experience. Noisey, dusty, hot or cold by the right season. One truly knew they were riding a railroad train. What a great and unusual shot, passing the powerhouse at 30th Street. Appears to be late in the day, when most of the commuter equipment was out on the various lines radiating from 30th St. During the middle of the day, the tracks in the foreground were typically full of parked commuter equipment, and this shot would not have been possible. BB either had some connection to gain access to this location, or he did some major league trespassing. But who can argue with the result?
