When I worked at my home town station I loved looking at passing freight trains and seeing all the foreign heralds.  It was something that stayed with me until all the mergers left only 5 roads .  Now it is boring to look at the cars, especially those with just reporting markings.. A tip of the hat to  who first said  "it's all crap  now".
