A few more CNW at Carroll IA
Author: jgilmore

I've previously posted several shots of the one trip I took to Carroll in 1986 which shows a typical day of railroading in a small midwest town back then. Here's a few more I found...

1) Apparently the CGW crossed over the CNW main at Carroll and here's what remained at that time, bridge piers and what looks like a former branch line turned into car storage.
2) EB passing the depot with one of those crew thingies on the rear. Most of the trains that day still had one...
3) A little shutter lag but a WB with run-through power that was probably common then with all the trains going from CR to UP with CNW as the middle man.

Thanks for looking!
JG

Picture one is very interesting. I did not visit Carroll before the CGW was eliminated. Nary a trace beyond the bridge abutments now.

And the CGW depot.
