Westbound Wednesday, SP Westbound Out Of Reno, 1987
Author: FiveChime

Nothing special at the time but a lot of changes from today.
1. No more SP
2. No more trackage there
3. No more cars without graffitti
4. No more cabooses
5  Rare manned helpers

Great video Jim.  That's the SP I knew and loved.  It's hard to see the sides of the cars from so close but back then they were still somewhat maintained and were interesting to look at due to the variety of paint schemes

Nice video.  No. 7, No more Gyra/Mars Lights (except Metra and Marc?). You always knew that light was a train.

Guess #8 could be no more decent sounding Nathan P3 horns (Standard SP)

Thanks for showing the whole train.  Love to HERE them passing as much as seeing them.  The good old days...

The Greyhound bus, great sounds, helpers, and a caboose?! Is this heaven? Absolutely awesome video. I remember this headlights bouncing around as a train crossed the Suisun Marsh. And my favorite running route for the cross country or track team took me across the Cal-P at the Suisun depot where I would hopefully spot a train.

Exactly why I find model railroading so much more appealing now.

You can add clickity clack to you list also as that's fading away.

Looks like you were standing just east of Keystone Avenue in Reno.
