November, 1991.

1. A southbound Illinois Central freight is holding on Main 1 at Carbondale, waiting to take to the single track at the south end of town. After a bit, northbound Amtrak 392 has departed and passes the stopped southbound.

2. After Amtrak's departure, a northbound that was stopped at the south end of town got it's signal to head up Main 2 behind 392.

3. Once the northbound cleared up.... nothing. As the light got lower, a second northbound freight came along up Main 2. It would be too dark to shoot before the southbound finally got a signal.
