Delaware & Hudson location help
Author: thebluecomet

These are from two duplicate slides purchased years ago without any identification.

1.  A pair of PA's on a freight train.  No notes on the slide at all.

2.  This photo has the Railpace Magazine stamp on it, but no other info.

Thanks for any help.

Photo 1 looks like a westbound at Wellsburg, NY on the former Erie Lackawanna between Binghamton and Buffalo. East of Elmira.
Probably 1977 - 1978.

Agree that #1 looks to be on the southern tier line. That would probably make the train a Binghamton to Sayre turn, a Lehigh Valley interchange run which was a common assignment for the sharks and may have drawn PAs a few times.

I think that train was abolished shortly after the Conrail start up in April of 1976. Was it still running in 1977?

Wellsburg is west of Sayre.
This was a Binghamton to Buffalo train but I'm not sure of the symbol.

The shot at Wellsburg, NY  Train is DB-1 March 27, 1977. Not sure who it was beside me or it was the next shot on the roll.
