.   .   .   not the best shot, but, as they say, you can't go back. In MAR '81, the westbound steel train was starting out of Keddie, CA.

Why isn't it a best shot? The lighting up there can be real crap but its WP on the Keddie Wye its fine. I don't even have a shot of the WP on the wye.

Getting shots at the Keddie Wye is all about being there at the right time of the day when the sun is in the right place and then have a train showup.  Trains coming off the highline make for the best shots in the afternoon.  And lastly a magical lens to get around all the trees that have grown up over the years.  In 1974 there were no or very few trees in the way.  The last time I was there in September 2016 there lots of trees in hidden branches in the way.

Many of us are our own worst critics, this usually helps us to do better and the passing of time seems to "age" certain shots we weren't happy with at the time into something very interesting, like this shot...
