Nostalgia & History > Who Manufactured this Truck?Date: 09/08/21 07:32 Who Manufactured this Truck? Author: MartyBernard The photo was taken in Binghamton NY in Erie-Lackawanna days, probably prior to or soon after Conrail formation in 1976. Concrete columns support off ramp from I-81.
Can you I.D. it? Thanks, Marty Bernard Date: 09/08/21 07:41 Re: Who Manufactured this Truck? Author: rrman6 Not sure myself but International, Autocar, comes to mind, but I see no markings and my latter I'd think the least. Reminds me of heavy duty oil field trucks of the 50's-70's.

Bruce Date: 09/08/21 09:17 Re: Who Manufactured this Truck? Author: swaool I'm going to agree with Bruce. The lines of the cab and the profile of the hood say Hendrickson to me. The hood ornament also fits, although the grille doesn't look quite right.

It is definitely an International cab. Looks like a Henrickson to me. It is their emblem. Edited 2 time(s). Last edit at 09/08/21 11:22 by NYSWSD70M. Date: 09/08/21 16:31 Re: Who Manufactured this Truck? Author: bigsavage Hendrickson was based in Chicago and Lyons, Ill. For years it was mainly known for heavy duty construction and mining trucks.
Starting in the 1930's it formed a collaboration with International-Harvester for suspension and chassis components and IH would furnish Hendrickson with truck cabs. In 1972, both companies unveiled a new cab/chassis for fire apparatus, this 1972 magazine ad announces the new cab/chassis combination, which would be sent to a fire engine builder of the customer's choice. Within 3 years, Hendrickson would be selling hundreds of these cabs to fire engine builders large and small. Hendrickson would supply cabs to the fire truck industry until 1985, when the Hendrickson designs were sold to Kovatch Mobile Engineering (KME) in Nesquehoning, PA., to use on KME's new line of fire apparatus. This 1982 Hendrickson cab/chassis was bought by Bowling Green, MD. Vol. FD, with the body built by Pirsch of Kenosha, Wisc. Date: 09/08/21 16:55 Re: Who Manufactured this Truck? Author: LocoPilot750 Union Pacific used to keep a Cline truck that looked a lot like that one in Topeka . It ususally sat just west of the Passenger depot. I think it was the only Cline I ever saw.
