Watkins Route Wednesday

Here's a rare timetable cover (1893) from a road that eventually formed part of the Missouri Pacific
in Louisiana.

A superb item, have never seen one.
Railroads have a unique way of 'altering' their geography, whether in text of by map.

Thanks for posting this, its a lovely piece in great shape.

Another one of those "I didn't know that existed" railroads.
Perhaps the first transcontinental shortline.

What is the date in the lower righthand corner?  May 189X?

Put me on that list, as well. What an extraordinary piece of RR history! And I, too have always snickered at how a given RR would "skew" their own system map to exaggerate its atributes...

Very interesting timetable.

Ran only between Alexandria and "Charles Lake" according to the 1902 NYT article.
