three Lehigh Valley red C628's
Author: LV95032

Originally scanned and color processed in 2012 I realized it wasn't up to my current standards so I color corrected it again with the experience gained in the past 9 years. Westbound coming down hill at Bloomsbury, NJ.

Oh boy that's nice!  Excellent scan.  Back when RRs knew a good paint scheme.

That's my kind of train (and photography there of)!   Alco power up front in beautiful colors and boxcars from various railroads behind with no grafitti.  Great shot!

Thanks for posting, Rich.  I have to say those Alcos looked much better in the "Cornel Red" that that white scheme.

Great catch and scene! Updated scan shows off the wonderful grayness of a NE winter better than the original...

Can't see the unit number on the third one.  First two are ex-Monon, where they had a short but interesting and troubling tour of duty.

Excellent photo of a great subject.  If only the Valley was as busy as Conrail later ran along these tracks.  Thanks for sharing.

Very nice!  I happened to see that very same train later that day leaving Allentown, but for some reason didn't get a picture.  It was a pretty big train of 121 cars.

Sure would be nice to see that today rather than the three NS black things that went by my house today.

In its last few years, the Lehigh Valley ran several different paint schemes.  As did the Reading Company.
