A couple of Forties for Friday

Top photo- AT&SF SD40-2 5021 is leaving the conductor behind because he was goofing off and didn't get on board when the engineer whistled off. 

No, not really. They are switching cars at Bakersfield, CA on 10/6/1989, and he will soon be aboard for the trip to Barstow. 

Bottom photo-UP SD40-2 3792 westbound on the South Track at Cajon, CA 7/23/1995.
